Operational Research Society of India Madurai Chapter (ORSI-MC) and Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) are pleased to announce that the 43rd Annual Convention of ORSI in conjunction with an International Conference on Operational Research for Urban and Rural Development (ORURD) will be held from 15th to 17th of December 2010 at TCE, Madurai. A set of selected papers presented at the conference will be reviewed for getting published in special issues of various leading journals related to Operational Research, Operations Management and Industrial Engineering.

The conference aims to provide a forum for

• Researchers from various regions of our country to interact and discuss issues dealing with OR applications in education, energy, finance, government, health services, manufacturing industries, mining, sports and transportation.
  
• Engineers, Technologists, Scientists, Policy Makers and Decision Makers who have influence on Urban and Rural Development, to learn and share OR application and implementation experiences.
  
• OR practitioners and academicians to personally update on concepts, techniques, and optimization / statistical software tools.
  
  
  
  

* Participants who wish to present papers are requested to submit an extended abstract [maximum of 500 words]. The abstract should include (a) the title of the paper, (b) keywords, (c) each author's full name, designation with address, (d) email addresses of all the authors and (e) corresponding author.

** Guidelines of paper will be intimated on acceptance of the extended abstract
