The demise of our honorable Chairman and Correspondent has deeply saddened us and left an ineffaceable mark in our hearts. His vision paved the way for unparalleled growth and development, transforming our organization into a beacon of excellence. His guidance shall inspire us as we strive to fulfill his vision and move forward!
In this edition, we provide you with a glimpse of the remarkable achievements, inspiring stories, and updates from the TCE Alumni community. This edition shall showcase updates on the Founder's Day celebrations, Alumni reunions, news from Alumni chapters, and various Alumni engagements at TCE that happened from February to July 2023.
The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the TCE Alumni Association was hosted by the parent chapter at TCE on 29th July 2023. We are delighted to welcome Mr. I.A.S. Balamurugan (1991-Mech) ,Managing Partner of Anicut Capital on board as the newly elected president of TCEAA. We hope that TCEAA shall reach newer heights under his able leadership. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. N. Ramkumar (1989-MCA), Founder of Meekam Consultants, the immediate Past President for his exceptional contribution to the TCEAA.

TCE Alumni Association (Parent Chapter) organized an event to pay respect to our honourable Chairman and Correspondent Thiru Karumuttu T. Kannan, at KS Auditorium on 17th June 2023. Honorable Trustee of TCE, Mr. K. Thiagarajan took part in the event and shared his experiences and anecdotes highlighting our beloved Chairman's dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment towards philanthropic activities. About 150 Alumni gathered to pay tribute to the great visionary. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Alumni who attended the meeting.

TCE's growth over the previous seven decades has been consistently higher.It is a great privilege to have been chosen as the president to lead the TCE Alumni Association. TCE has ascended continuously in its growth over the last seven decades. The TCE Alumni prior to 1990 have placed themselves predominantly in Government organizations like Defence, Space, Civil works, Highways, energy, and so on, contributing to nation-building and achieving higher accolades. After liberalization, the contribution of alumni can be seen in various corporations across the globe.
The current scenario necessitates a concentration on innovations and entrepreneurship. TCEAA for the next few years, plans to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among young minds. Emphasizing these areas can indeed have a positive impact on individuals and the broader society.
TCE has a well-equipped Incubation Centre for nurturing innovative ideas and provides opportunities for creating contemporary business models out of the campus. I also request the Alumni who are exploring entrepreneurship avenues to set up a base in TCE Technology Business Incubator (TBI).
The outpouring of tributes and participation of Alumni from various batches in the Homage event organized by TCEAA was a testimony to the great dharmic life he led. We welcome the contributions from Alumni towards objectifying his vision of encouraging entrepreneurship among the students as it would be a befitting tribute to our beloved Chairman Late Mr. T. Kannan.

Founder's Day was commemorated at our college premises on 29th July 2023. Mr. Vijay Mohan, Founder of Pricol Ltd, Coimbatore, and Mr. Rajeev Mecheri, Serial Entrepreneur and Honorary Consul of Ireland, Chennai graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of honor respectively and delivered their special addresses to the students.
Our beloved Trustee Mr. K. Thiagarajan presided over the event and delivered the presidential address. Alumni of our institution came together to sponsor scholarships worth an astounding amount of Rs. 61,92,000 during the event to 215 deserving students.
This philanthropic act by the Alumni not only highlights their commitment to their Alma mater but also provides a lifeline to deserving students who may otherwise struggle to pursue their education. The scholarships will undoubtedly make a significant impact in the lives of these students, opening doors to a brighter future and empowering them to achieve their academic aspirations.

The Silver Jubilee Reunion of 1998 batch was organized at the TCE campus on 21st July 2023. The Alumni from the batch made an enormous contribution of 35 lakh rupees towards the corpus fund, which shall be used for providing scholarships to deserving students studying at TCE. The reunion was followed by Student interaction sessions hosted by the alumni on topics of "Higher Education and placement", "Women Empowerment" and "Opportunities to work abroad".

The Silver Jubilee Reunion of 1996 batch was organized on 28th July 2023.The batch's alumni have donated about 42 Lakh rupees to the corpus fund. Following the reunion, alumni sponsored student engagement sessions on themes such as further education and placement, opportunities for working overseas, and more.

The TCE Alumni Gulf (UAE) Chapter organized an event to pay homage to our late Chairman Thiru Karumuttu Kannan at Hotel Panorama, Bur Dubai, UAE on 24th June 2023. About 40 Alumni from various batches attended the event to pay their tributes.
|
|
|
TCEAA (Parent Chapter) hosted the Annual General Body meeting at TCE on 29th July 2023. The election of TCEAA officebearers was held. The presentation of various Alumni engagements and the account statement for the year 2022-2023 were presented to the EC members by the Secretary and Treasurer, TCEAA respectively.

Mr. Ajayan Sahadevan(2002-Mech), is the first Indian national to be appointed as one of the global Board Directors in M/S Oldendorff carriers.

Mr. NG Karthikeyan (2009-CSE) was appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at TaxNodes

Dr.Abinaya Sekar (2015-Civil),a Senior Research Associate at India’s Centre for Policy Research in New Delhi was recognized as an Advisor.

On the occasion of our 65th college day, Our Alumnus Er. K. Thangavel, (1980 - Civil) Superintendent Engineer (Retd) received an Appreciation Award from our Trustee Mr. K. Thiagarajan for his contribution towards the road laying project from the TAARC building to TCE Entrance Gate on 31 stMarch 2023.
