Professional societies such as the Institution of Engineers, India (IEI), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) are part of the department. Being a part of the IEI promotes an environment to enable ethical pursuits of professional excellence for engineering fraternity to provide leadership for serving the humanity in an inclusive manner. Approximately 80 ECE student members become a member of IEI every year.

The IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. The IEEE student branch at TCE was renewed and started to conduct activities from the academic year 2010-11. Approximately 50 ECE student members become a member of IEEE every year. IEEE student branch of ECE department enhanced its activities by forming IEEE society chapters such as IEEE Antennas and Propagation society, IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques society and IEEE circuits and systems society.
